This policy explains what CameraDiet collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It describes the app and this website as they actually work.
Who we are
CameraDiet is operated by a qualified nutritionist providing dietary guidance through this app. You can reach us at cameradiet@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +964 770 821 6878 for any question about your data.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — name, phone number and, if you provide one, an email address. We do not use passwords: you sign in with a one-time code sent to your phone, or with Google or Apple, in which case we receive the identifier and email from that service.
- Body and profile data — age, gender, height, weight, target weight, your goal, how many days a week you exercise (used only to calculate your calorie target), and your preferred language.
- Food and progress records — meals you log, portion sizes, water intake, weight entries over time, and progress photos if you add them.
- Meal photographs — pictures you take to have a meal identified.
- Messages you send us — enquiries through the website or in-app contact.
Information collected automatically
- A device notification token, so we can send you reminders and plan updates.
- Basic technical data needed to serve requests, such as your app language and version.
We do not collect your location, contacts, calendar, or browsing activity outside the app.
Why we use it
- To calculate your daily calorie and nutrient targets from your body data and goal.
- To prepare and adjust your meal plan.
- To identify foods in the photographs you submit and estimate their nutrition.
- To show your progress over time.
- To take payment for a subscription and keep a record of it.
- To verify your phone number when you sign in.
- To send you notifications about your plan. You can turn these off in your device settings.
Who your information is shared with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use the following service providers, each of whom receives only what is needed for their function:

Please note: meal photographs are sent to OpenAI in the United States for analysis. Avoid including other people, documents, or anything you would not want processed outside your country in a picture of your food.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Where your data is held
Your account and health records are stored on our server. Some of the providers above process data outside your country, including in the United States and Europe, as noted in the table.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and health records for as long as your account exists. Payment records are kept longer where accounting or tax rules require it. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data except records we are legally required to retain.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the app: Profile → Delete Profile. This removes your profile, food records, weight history and photographs. If you have removed the app or cannot sign in, you can request deletion at cameradiet.online/delete-account, or email cameradiet@gmail.com from your registered address. Requests made on that page are verified by a person and completed within 30 days.
Your choices
- You can view and correct your details in the app at any time.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by emailing us.
- You can turn off notifications in your device settings.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Card details are handled by our payment provider and do not reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
CameraDiet is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
This is not medical care in an emergency
CameraDiet provides nutritional guidance. It is not a substitute for emergency medical treatment or the advice of your treating physician. If you have a medical condition, consult your doctor before changing your diet.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
